Dr. Bianchi is Director of the Amyloidosis Program at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Director of the Amyloidosis Research Program at the Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center in Boston, MA. She is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bianchi earned her MD degree summa cum laude and Valedictorian of her class from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy. She trained in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and in Hematology-Oncology at DFCI/Partners. The Bianchi lab investigates the role of proteostasis in determining plasma cell fate in both physiologic and pathologic states, aiming to identify vulnerabilities for drug development in patients with AL amyloidosis and multiple myeloma. In the clinic, Dr. Bianchi serves as Principal Investigator on a wide array of investigator initiated and pharma-sponsor clinical trials for AL amyloidosis patients. Dr. Bianchi is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Damon Runyon Physician Scientist Training Award, 2016; the Doris Duke Charitable Research Foundation Clinical Scientist Development Award, 2019, the American Society for Clinical Investigation Young Physician-Scientist Award, 2021, the American Society of Hematology Scholar Award, 2022 and the 2025 V Foundation Scholar grant.
