Dr. Suchitra Sundaram is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology and Medical Oncology) at the Tisch Cancer Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sundaram provides clinical care fully dedicated to patients with lymphoma (non-hodgkin and hodgkin lymphoma) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Her research focuses on the development of novel targeted therapies in lymphoma and CLL and studying practice patterns and clinical outcomes of lymphoma in the real world setting. Dr. Sundaram has been a primary investigator on several multi-center clinical trials that tested combinations of novel agents and immunotherapies to precisely target lymphoma while decreasing the intensity of side effects. Dr. Sundaram was also involved in translational and laboratory based research projects and contributed to studying the biology of treatment resistance in lymphoma/CLL, evaluating novel small-molecule inhibitors targeting key-regulatory pathways in lymphomas and identification of biomarkers of response. She has authored and co-authored several articles in scientific journals, as well as had several national level meeting abstracts and presentations. Dr. Sundaram has served on the NCCN CLL- Hairy Cell Leukemia practice guidelines committee and has been involved in speaker events with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Dr. Sundaram is a Lymphoma Research Foundation Scholar and is committed to continuing her research in lymphoma outcomes studies and clinical trials with the hope to provide the most appropriate individualized care plan for her patients.
